How Clics Coliving Set Me Up in the South
Back in 2020, I had the opportunity to brand Clics Coliving, a modern coliving space nestled in Hiriketiya, Sri Lanka. This project was more than just another branding gig—it was the one that truly anchored me to the South, marking the beginning of a journey filled with sun, surf, and a community of like-minded creatives.
The Essence of Clics

Clics is all about community. It’s a space built for digital nomads who thrive in a work-hard-play-hard environment. Think: morning surf sessions, productive coworking hours, and sunset cocktails at the one-of-a-kind TukTuk Bar. The name ‘Clics’ itself draws inspiration from the idea of a clique—a tight-knit group of individuals creating experiences together. But it also nods to the digital world, the sound of a mouse click, the interconnectedness of the nomadic lifestyle.
Surrounded by the tropical beauty of Sri Lanka, Clics offers more than just accommodation. It’s an experience-driven space where people connect, collaborate, and create. And that was exactly what the brand needed to reflect.
The Branding Approach
When it comes to branding, I love slipping in little Easter eggs within the logo marks—hidden elements that make the design more meaningful when you take a closer look.
With Clics, we hit the sweet spot!
At first glance, the logo appears to be an illustration of a sunset and waves, perfectly capturing the laid-back, tropical vibe of Hiriketiya. But look closer, and you’ll see the word ‘CLICS’ subtly embedded within the design. It’s playful yet professional, adventurous yet structured—just like the experience of staying at Clics.
The visual identity extends beyond just the logo. The branding elements reflect key aspects of the Clics experience:

Community & Connection – Inspired by the way digital nomads and travelers form close-knit groups, the visual language incorporates subtle nods to networks and shared experiences.
Adventure & Nature – The tropical setting, the surf breaks, and the golden sunsets all play into the brand’s color palette and design choices.
Digital & Travel – Since Clics is built for remote workers, the branding carries a sense of modernity and movement, perfect for a dynamic, location-independent lifestyle.

Beyond Branding: The Experience
Clics is hands-down my favorite place to hang out in the South. It’s not just because of the branding work I did, but because of the vibe. The ever-friendly staff, the in-house doggos (yes, that’s a major plus!), and the like-minded people who flow through the space make it feel like a home away from home.
And let’s talk about that TukTuk Bar! If you haven’t had a cocktail from this repurposed tuk-tuk, you’re missing out. But beyond the drinks, Clics curates an incredible range of experiences, from surf and SUP sessions to Sunday family meals that bring everyone together.
A Branding Project That Became a Home
This project wasn’t just another addition to my portfolio—it was the one that set me up in the South and introduced me to a community I didn’t even know I needed. Clics continues to be a space that brings people together, and I’m beyond proud to have shaped its visual identity.
So if you ever find yourself in Hiriketiya, drop by Clics. Whether it’s to work, surf, or simply soak in the good vibes, you’ll see why this place is so special.
