Branding The Jungle Villa: Nature Refined

The Jungle Villa isn’t just a place—it’s an experience, a slice of serenity tucked deep into the slopes of a Sri Lankan jungle. When I was asked to create the branding for this hidden gem, I knew it needed to strike the perfect balance: refined but wild, luxurious but grounded, elegant yet alive. And just like the villa itself, the branding had to welcome you in while leaving room for nature to do the talking.
The Soul of the Space
Built into the hillside and surrounded by lush, untamed vegetation, The Jungle Villa is a modern-day oasis designed with soft tropical architecture and warm, earthy tones. Its walls hold a quiet luxury that never screams but always whispers calm. That became the core of the brand’s visual identity—a soothing yet immersive language rooted in the natural world, echoing the experience of stepping into a private jungle retreat.
Visual Identity: Elegance Meets Ecosystem
The visual direction mirrors the villa’s personality, pulling textures, patterns, and palettes straight from the Sri Lankan jungle. The logo features a centered illustrated element—a botanical-inspired mark that brings together the elegance of curated architecture and the unpredictability of nature. It's paired with understated yet graceful typography, creating a balanced and elevated aesthetic.
The branding package also includes a series of custom illustrated icons—each one representing a key aspect of the villa: individual rooms, common areas, jungle wildlife, and tropical foliage. These icons are used across digital platforms and within the space itself, helping to tell the story of The Jungle Villa in a subtle, coherent way.
Colour & Texture: Nature, Inside and Out
We looked at the contrast and convergence of the jungle: deep greens, the play of shadow under the canopy, bursts of sunlit color, and the earthy, muted tones of stone and wood. These indoor-outdoor influences shaped the brand palette—a blend that feels both fresh and grounded. The branding design intentionally feels like a continuation of the villa’s experience, from architecture to atmosphere.

Illustrating the Wilderness
A highlight of this project was diving into the illustrated components. Inspired by Sri Lanka’s evergreen forests, I created stylized versions of local flora and jungle elements. These weren’t botanical studies; they were interpretations—chaotic and lush, yet composed. A visual celebration of the jungle’s complexity, filtered through a designer’s eye.
Where Calm Meets Wild
The Jungle Villa is a destination, but it’s also a feeling. It invites you to slow down, breathe deeply, and become part of the landscape. Through its branding, I aimed to bottle that emotion and make it visual. It’s the logo that whispers welcome, the icons that guide you gently, the colors that hold you, and the story that roots you to the earth while giving you space to exhale.
This was more than a branding project. It was a conversation with nature, translated into design. And I’m incredibly proud to have given a visual voice to a place that already speaks so loudly through stillness.
